What is a Sales Funnel? A sales funnel is a marketing concept that represents the journey potential customers go through before making a purchase. It's called a "funnel" because it illustrates the process of narrowing down a broad group of prospects to a smaller group of buyers. The funnel typically consists of several stages:

  1. Awareness: This is the top of the funnel. At this stage, potential customers become aware of your brand, product, or service, usually through marketing efforts like ads, social media, content, etc.

  2. Interest: Once prospects are aware, they might start showing interest by learning more about what you offer. This could include visiting your website, signing up for an email list, or engaging with content.

  3. Consideration: In this stage, the potential customer is evaluating your product or service against others. They may look at reviews, compare options, or seek more detailed information.

  4. Intent: This is when a prospect shows a clear intent to buy, such as adding a product to their cart or filling out a form for a demo or quote.

  5. Decision: At the bottom of the funnel, the prospect decides to make a purchase. This is where the sales conversion happens.

  6. Action: This is the final step where the prospect completes the purchase or takes the desired action (like signing a contract, making a payment, etc.).

Some funnels also include post-purchase stages, like loyalty (when a customer returns to make more purchases) and advocacy (when a customer recommends your product to others).

The goal of a sales funnel is to move potential customers through these stages efficiently, guiding them toward making a purchase.
